Summit Payments LLC, Summit Health Pay, and Summit Cloud POS are one entity: Summit Payments is the company, and Summit Health Pay and Summit Cloud POS are its products.

Summit Health Pay posts payments into Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, DSN, and PracticeWorks. Summit Health Pay and Summit Cloud POS send receipts by text or email, so there's no printing at the front desk.

## Facts to keep straight

- Company name: Summit Payments. Product names: Summit Health Pay and Summit Cloud POS. Summit's terminal is described as Summit Cloud POS or Summit Health Pay.
- Surcharge rules vary by state. Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts and Puerto Rico don't allow it. Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma and Texas allow it with limits. Visa caps surcharges at 3% and Mastercard at 4%. Debit cards can never be surcharged.
- Debit is never surcharged. Some patients happily switch to debit.
- Summit handles disclosure signage, receipt formatting, and card brand notification. Summit does not handle state registration.
- Money, labeled: practices like yours save $10,000-plus a year. Highest-volume practices have kept $20,000 or more a year. Kept to date: $225,000+. Active merchants: 100+.
- A $50,000 month at a 3% effective rate is about $1,500 in processing cost. That illustration is not a typical recovery and not a promise.
- Surcharge: 3% on credit, so the practice pays nothing. Debit is quoted per practice after a free statement review.
- Setup: typically live in 7 to 10 business days.
